Course
Cathodic protection of concrete structures (FULL)
Many existing concrete structures are gradually reaching their initially intended design life and are in need of durable maintenance and/or repair. Rust or corrosion of the reinforcement and durability problems cause dangerous situations.
Cathodic protection (RD) can stop the corrosion process and extend the life of the structure.

What can you expect from this course?
The preliminary diagnosis and condition assessment of the affected concrete structure is the starting point of this course. You will receive detailed explanations of the principles and electrochemistry behind the technique of cathodic protection.
Besides the theoretical background around the design, dimensioning, installation and monitoring of the KB system, you will also receive practical lessons. Through cases on the one hand and a practical with (non-destructive) measuring techniques on the other, we sharpen your practical skills.
Finally, in the spirit of the life cycle, we consider the expected failure mechanisms, service life and associated costs of the RD system.

Good to know
Engineers of tomorrow has more to offer than the annual job and networking event.
What
Engineers of Tomorrow aims to support the ecosystem of future industrial engineers, (alumni) engineers, the Faculty of Applied Engineering and technology and innovation-driven companies in their broader professional and personal development.
Who
We welcome future (graduate) industrial engineers and companies driven by technology and innovation.
Where
Engineers of Tomorrow's job and networking event takes place at Bluepoint in Antwerp.
Why
EoT is a sustainable, enabling platform that connects stakeholders with increasing focus on broader societal issues. Fundamentally, each stakeholder contributes to the platform and also has the opportunity to use it.
