Ken De Smedt

Prevention Advisor
I am mainly working on developing projects on larger welfare topics so that they are applicable in the port. This includes a lot of projects requiring translation between technical and human language or analyzing, negotiating and writing out standards.
As a prevention consultant, you advise all levels of the company and are their conscience when it comes to health and safety. I work with everyone in the organization: from the port worker, cell boss, terminal manager to the CEO. It's not just the legislation but also the understanding of how something can be done safely. In doing so, as an engineer, I use the technical baggage and open-mindedness I came with. This ranges from technical safety of a large or small machine to supporting a safety culture.
