Geotechnical Engineer/Project Engineer
As a geotechnical engineer and project engineer, my day is a mix of engineering and project management.
I alternate between preparing cost estimates and stability models and attending meetings, visiting project sites, and collaborating with colleagues. I also take the lead on projects: I prepare quotes and schedules, monitor the budget, manage a team, and liaise with the client.
In this role, I use a combination of analytical and mathematical skills on a daily basis to handle complex calculations and modeling, problem-solving skills to refine designs, and communication and organizational skills to interact with clients, coordinate teams, and ensure projects run smoothly.
