Architecture internships

A 6-week learning experience
What does the internship involve?
Structural engineering internships are organized in the third bachelor year of the program Bachelor of Industrial Science: Structural Engineering. The internships last six weeks and take place at the beginning of the second semester, Monday through Thursday each time.
For the 2025-2026 academic year, the internships run from Feb. 9 through March 19, 2026. The internships offered must have content consistent with the curriculum the students are pursuing. During the internship, the student remains fully legally affiliated with the University of Antwerp. An internship agreement is drawn up prior to the internship, together with the corresponding work post sheet and risk analysis. Our students have standard safety footwear, a safety helmet and a VCA-VOL certificate.
Can I just submit an internship application?
Internship Requirements
The requirements of a structural engineering internship are fairly strict. To prevent a company from submitting an internship without meeting these strict requirements, an approval from the internship manager - Koen Pieters - is necessary. If you have supervised an engineering intern in the past, you probably have automatic access to the internship module. Take a look at the dashboard. If you see "Internships" listed, then you can submit internships. If you do not see this listed, please contact Koen Pieters.
An important requirement is that the internship is located in Flanders. This academic year NO internships outside Flanders are allowed!
