Pfizer Global Supply Puurs (Pfizer Manufacturing Belgium) is one of the largest manufacturing and packaging sites in Pfizer’s global network, specializing in aseptic manufacturing and packaging. Each year, we produce approximately 500 million units of aseptic medicines and vaccines. The medicines and vaccines manufactured in Puurs are distributed to patients in more than 170 different markets, and 30% of our total production is destined for developing countries, in collaboration with organizations such as UNICEF, the WHO, GAVI, and various NGOs. To produce as efficiently and environmentally responsibly as possible, Pfizer Puurs also places a strong emphasis on sustainability in the areas of energy consumption, water consumption and reuse, waste management, and recycling. For example, we use two wind turbines, solar energy, and a combined heat and power (CHP) plant. As a result, a significant portion of the energy we use is generated sustainably.
